Conditions, Fees & General Information

We believe in keeping things transparent and fair so here’s everything you need to know before starting lessons at My Soul Music.

Please treat your scheduled lesson time like a professional appointment.

Our Pricing

Fee Structure (Effective January 2025)

 School Terms & Holidays Lessons run year-round except during:
  • Christmas break
  • Easter
  • Public holidays (unless otherwise agreed)

First trial lesson is free (30 minutes)
Instrumental lessons include 30 mins of practical + 30 mins of theory (opt-out available with notice)

Attendance, Cancellations & Make-Up Lessons
  • Consistent attendance is key to progress
  • Lesson slots are reserved weekly  no refunds for absences
  • One make-up lesson per month will be offered if:
    • At least 24 hours’ notice is given for school events or illness
    • In cases of extended illness, missed lessons may be credited
  • Students with frequent absences may not be eligible for exams or performances
Extra Lessons If you’re preparing for an exam or need more practice, we may recommend additional sessions. These are billed separately, following the standard fee structure.
 Studio Etiquette To keep our lessons running smoothly, we ask:
  • Please don’t bring guests to lessons (including parents, siblings, or friends)
  • Arrive on time — lessons will end at the scheduled time regardless of late arrival
  • No toys or devices during lessons
  • Practice regularly at home
  • Personal hygiene matters!
    • Wash hands and feet
    • Wear clean socks (especially after school)
    • Keep nails short for instrumental lessons
Music Examinations We offer preparation for exams from Preliminary to Licentiate levels through the following boards:
  • AMEB – Australian Music Examinations Board
  • AGMS – Australian Guild of Music and Speech
  • Trinity College London – UK
  • Australian Music College (AMC)
Important notes:
  • Not all students are required to sit exams
  • Students must show commitment to regular practice and attendance
  • 100% attendance is required before applying for any exam
  • Exam fees are paid through the teacher and are non-refundable
